Drain Jetting Weston

Drain jetting in Weston scours a blocked line with water under pressure, chemical-free, flushing out the grease, silt and root debris that a cable only punches through. Weston Plumbing Co prices the job before any hose is fed in, and every cleared line is proven with a camera before we pack up.

Booking a run. Ring (02) 4063 3475 or send the form. The full drain service sits on the blocked drains page, and jetting is one of the tools a plumber in Weston carries for fat, silt and root debris.

What Does the Jetter Actually Do?

The jetting unit feeds a high-pressure hose into your drain from the nearest opening. Its head sprays ahead to cut through the choke, while angled rear jets pull the hose further in and wash grease and silt off the walls on the way.

That scrubbing is the difference. Where a cable bores a tunnel through the gunk and leaves the walls coated, jetting strips the line back to bare pipe:

  • Grease and fat build-ups wash out whole instead of narrowing the drain again within months
  • Silt settled in a low section flushes to the gully rather than sitting there
  • Root threads left behind after cutting get blasted out of the joints
  • The whole inside diameter comes back, not just a channel through the middle

When Is Jetting the Right Tool?

The camera decides. Where the film shows good pipe lined with build-up, jetting is the cleanest fix there is. If it shows a cracked joint or a collapsed section, pressure is the wrong answer and the fix moves to a repair or pipe relining.

Jetting earns its keep on kitchen and laundry lines choked with fat, stormwater lines packed with silt after a wet week, and sewers running slow after roots have been cut.

How the Run Goes

  1. 01

    Ring or send the form

Call (02) 4063 3475 or use the form to explain the fault. We ask enough to bring the right equipment the first time.

  2. 02

    A fixed price first

A plumber inspects the job and names a fixed figure up front. Nothing gets started until you give the go-ahead.

  3. 03

The camera goes down, the jetter follows

The line is filmed to the boundary, the hose runs the full length, and the camera goes down a second time to show the pipe running clean.

  4. 04

    Covered for a year

Every job carries our 365-day warranty on all work. If something we did isn't right, ring the same number.

The before-and-after footage is yours to see on the spot. A drain that looks clear and is not will block again next month, so the second camera run is standard on every jetting job.

What Moves the Figure on a Jetting Job?

A jetting price comes down to the pipe and what is packed in it:

  • Line length and access A short run from a gully costs less than a long sewer with the only access under the house.
  • What is in the pipe Grease clears faster than compacted silt or a root mat, and the camera tells us which before the price is set.
  • The second camera pass It is included, because proving the clear is part of the job.
  • The clock A night or weekend run carries the after-hours rate, quoted with the rest of the job.

The Ground the Jetter Works In

Clay that never sits still

Area rainfall averages 804mm a year, and Weston's reactive clay swells when it is wet and shrinks when it dries. Joints opened by a century of that movement let fine soil wash into the lines and settle, and that sludge is what the rear jets flush out best.

Old yards, slow flats

Earthenware under the pre-1940 weatherboard cottages dates from the colliery start, and the town's low flats shed water slowly. A line on that ground can hold clay wash and silt as well as grease, so the nozzle is picked for sludge, not just fat.

What Customers Say

We talked through the options of our blocked kitchen sink drain (not just an s bend problem) and came to the perfect long term solution at a reasonable price.

When We're Not the Right Call

Jetting will not fix a pipe that has lost its shape. Where the film shows the blockage lies in Hunter Water's main past your boundary, their crews own that repair and we pass on what the camera found. A crushed section under a slab needs digging, which is a separate quote.

Questions Callers Ask About Jetting

Is jetting safe for the old earthenware drains under these houses?

On a sound line, yes. The jets push water, not blades, so they strip build-up without wearing the pipe itself. If the camera shows a cracked or collapsed section first, that joint needs a repair rather than pressure, and the booking changes to a fix instead.

How is jetting different from the electric eel?

An eel punches a path through a blockage. Jetting scrubs the full inside of the pipe, washing grease, sand and root fragments out rather than pushing them further down. The eel still earns its place on some jobs, and the camera findings decide which.

Do you jet stormwater drains on the low flats too?

Yes. The flats around town hold water after hard rain because the ground is low and the old street drains are slow to shift it, and jetting a blocked stormwater line gets the yard draining again before the next downpour.

Will the drain just block again after jetting?

Not if the cause was build-up. Jetting leaves the pipe clean to the wall. If roots keep returning through cracked joints under an older yard, cutting them and sealing the joint is tree root removal work, and that is quoted separately.
